Vice President for Communication & Cultural Outreach

Leads the Office of the Vice President for Communication & Cultural Outreach.

 Duties

The officer in charge of developing and executing the University’s communication, outreach, editorial and marketing.
Some duties include:

• Design and coordinate the institution's internal and external communication policies and activities.
• Elaborate and coordinate the institution's marketing, domain and branding policies and activities.
• Elaborate and coordinate the institution's corporate design unification policies.
• Promote and coordinate the activities of extension, culture, and centers for its outreach.
• Direct and coordinate the University's editorial policies and activities.

Career

Rosa María Lazo is an English-French to Spanish translator from the Institute of Literature at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC), and holds a Master's degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations from the Institute of Political Science at UC.

An associate professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, she has been involved in teaching both core and elective courses as part of the Master's program in Translation at the Faculty of Literature.

A proponent of translation and interpretation of texts, she has published a series of books and conducted various research projects.

Before taking office as Vice President for Communication & Cultural Outreach, she served as Academic Secretary (2013 – 2015) and Vice-dean of the Faculty of Literature (2015 – 2023), and is a member of the UC Center for the Study of Chilean Literature (CELICH).
